After a whirlwind of a day, topped off by a wonderful all-school sing along featuring our talented band and holiday singers, we're ready for break! The kids are sufficiently sugared up and will, no doubt, crash early tonight (you're welcome hahaha). I wanted to say thank you for the wonderful gifts and cards that I received today. Working with your children is such a wonderful and enriching experience that I look forward to each and every day. Wherever you go and whatever you do this holiday season, I wish you nothing but happiness and safety. So Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and the happiest of New Years to each and every one of you. I'll see you all in 2020!
I hope that everyone enjoyed an absolutely beautiful weekend here in New England. I wanted to let you all know that I have finalized our Parent/Teacher conference schedule and created a sign-up for you to use. As always, if you would prefer a phone conference, please sign up for a slot and I will use that time to give you a call! Thank you all so much and I am looking forward to speaking with you all about your amazing children!
Dear Families of 6th graders,
It's hard to believe that we will promote our sixth grade students in just a few months! In preparation, we would like two pictures of your child: a baby picture and another of your child during his or her elementary school years. Please e-mail your pictures to Mrs. Boudreau at firstname.lastname@example.org, by Friday, February 14. If you only have a hard copy picture, Mrs. Boudreau will scan and return your photo. Please feel free to direct any questions to Mrs. Boudreau.

In an attempt to make things easier for home/school communication, I have created a Remind account for our homeroom. When you have a moment, please visit the following link (www.remind.com/join/mrpooler) and join our class. This way I will be able to better keep you informed on changes, events, and other important information that might otherwise be missed. Thank you in advance for signing up and I look forward to using Remind this year with you all!
The time, unfortunately, is coming. Very soon I must give you back your children. The same children you confidently entrusted to my care last fall. I shall give them back inches taller, months wiser, more responsible, and more mature than they were then.
Although they would have attained this growth in spite of me, it has been my absolute pleasure and privilege to watch as their personality unfolded day by day. It is with great reluctance that I give them back, for after having spent the last one-hundred and eighty days together in the confines of a classroom, we have all grown close, have become part of something great - a classroom family.
We have lived, loved, laughed, played, read, studied, learned, tested, and enriched our lives together this year. I wish I could go on indefinitely, but give them back I must. Remember that I shall always be interested in your children and their journey through school; wherever they go, whatever path they take. I will always be happy to celebrate their successes along the way.
To celebrate a year of success and growth we are planning our final celebration of the year for this Friday, June 15th. The celebration will begin first thing in the morning, around 8:45, and should lead us right up to the 6th grade promotion at 10:00.
I thank you all for an amazing year and I wish you nothing but the very best next year! I look forward to seeing you all on Friday!
All the best,
Homework for Tuesday, May 29th, 2018
Our graphic design club that has been running this month here at HUES has been so much fun. The kids really have seemed to enjoy learning how to manipulate, create and design with me on Wednesday afternoons.
I'm excited to continue offering this club going forward. If you have not had an opportunity to sign up for the month of March, you can do so on the following link. If you know of anyone who may be interested in this course, please let them know that I will also be offering a Monday afternoon class as well!
In backpacks this afternoon we've sent home a copy of the Fall NWEA results.
I’m sure that everyone has heard at this point, but we will be having a 2-hour delay tomorrow morning at HUES. Because of this, our field trip to America’s Stonehenge will be postponed until a later date. Tomorrow we will be following our delayed opening schedule, a copy of which I will paste below. As soon as we have a new date for our field trip, I will let you all know!
Thanks so much and stay safe out there!
10:20 - Student arrival
10:40 - Math
11:40 - Reading
12:45 - Recess and Lunch
1:40 - Writing
2:25 - Library
Just a reminder, there will be no recess options due to the delayed opening!
For those who are unable to join us for Open House tonight, or for those who would like a closer look, here is the Prezi presentation that I shared tonight.
Also, the link to sign up for Parent/teacher conferences is now live so please feel free to sign up for a conference time at your leisure.
