![]() The first week of the 2016/2017 school year is officially done! While only two days long, we packed in a week's worth of information, activities and fun. Each year, I look around the room and wonder what the new group will be like; how they'll work together; whether they'll be a little nervous. This group of twenty-two new sixth graders hit the ground running! Any nerves were quickly forgotten as we unpacked, organized and got our year officially kicked off! Day two rolled around and I was happy to see nothing but smiling faces walk through my door. Today was more of what a "typical" day would look like; reading, math, even a great Rip the World activity for Social Studies. Before we'd realized, three o'clock had arrived and there were many looks of surprise that the day was already done. I'm thrilled to have had such a great start to our new school year and I'm looking forward to the next 180 days of learning, laughing and growing. Have a great Labor Day weekend and I'll see everyone on Tuesday!
